I sell furniture for a job and we are constantly throwing out old mattress demos when new beds come out. So I decided to repurpose the foam in one as a vocal booth type of thing. Works very well stoping room reflections! Any mattress retailer has these and are more then likely just throwing them away like we are !
Hope this helps any diy'ers out there!

Fits on your head and you can walk around with it.

Hahah that's rad. I worked in a tech-sector warehouse that used that same type of foam in the OP to box up large-scale printers and I used to grab some of the leftovers for various recording jobs. We used some for damping the room in front of a guitar cab before, and made a pretty large booth for vocals at one time by gluing some huge pieces of foam together with hot glue.

Cool!

I bought a 12 pack of moving blankets for my makeshift booth. Though after tracking 1 song, it seems I killed off a bit too much high end......maybe I built it TOO enclosed?
