VH1 Rock Honors

It looked like Scott was having the time of his life up there. I even got a little fired up when he started doing his stomp in the beginning of the song.
He just reminded of that kid in his bedroom playing air guitar imagining being Gene Simmons. C'mon, we all did it...didn't we?

I'm old. You can tell how the honored singers sing much differently now.

Paul Rodgers did well considering his voice was never like Freddie's.

I liked Priest. and Scott on bass stomping around

I really thought I was gonna loathe Paul Rodgers doing Queen songs. I know it's blasphemy, but I kinda dug what he did with them.
Also dug the Foo's "tie your mother down".

I did. It gave me goosebumps just seeing that. Good times for all those guys.:notworthy

A few thoughts on the show:

1. Paul Rogers kicked ass---I was really impressed with how well he did. The three drummer version of We will Rock You was great and We are the Champions still makes the hair raise up on my arms. Foo Fighters did a good job. Another band people like to slag, but they really are a good rock band. Sorry.
2. Godsmack kicked ass on the Priest tunes. There are a lot of haters of that band out there, but that's only because they sell a lot of cd's. Rob and the boys were tight as ever. KK and Glenn had amazing guitar tone as always.
3. All American Rejects managed to not slaughter on one of Def Leppard's best songs. Not bad for such a wimpy band. Def Leppard was ok. Joe Elliot seems like the high notes are out of reach. Brian May was the best part of this piece.
4. The SuperGroup version of God of Thunder just fucking crushed. That was cool that Ace let Slash take a solo. Tommy was rocking the drums and Rob Zombie ripped on the vocals. Now that's a supergroup that could sell some records. Anyway, what the fuck is with Gene and Paul having stand-ins dress up like Space Ace and Peter Criss? The big Kiss sign should have fallen on them for that one. Paul Stanley's voice is clearly on the way to the retirement home. Overall this was the worst performance of the night, and it pains me to say so.
5. Jamie Pressley is hotter than hell.
6. The Brian Pohsen (sp?) skit was really dumb. Brian is better than that.
7. Jim Breur was good for a laugh. That idiot cracks me up for some reason.

Overall a thumbs up. Worth watching.

Yeah, I thought the Posehen skit was lame too. And Jamie Pressley is hotter than hell.
