Why if you have the means to get the real thing in the studio would you use line 6 stuff (even though it's good stuff)? Seriously why doesn't he just rent or something all of those heads he is emulating with the line 6? Yeah I get it. Live it's the shit since it is lighter. But in the studio? Really? Sounds better?

If that's a clip of the amp at the beginning and end of the video...

... uke: The tone has everything I hate about modelled guitars: it's fizzy, it doesn't have the grunt of a real tube amp palm mute, it sounds like a transistor amp and overgained while still having very little sustain.

and he said that line6 would not be making anymore of the amps.

I like the looks of the amp. Dave's always gone for a nasal tone, it matches his voice really. I dig it with Megadeth's music, it snarls in a good way. It's all in the EQ, I'm sure you can get sick tones from that amp. Andy made it sound amazing!

All I know is, I'm loving my HD 147 and I'm not looking to haul tube amps with me to gigs anymore.

actually.......it gets pretty close. Live, it sounds real close, in the studio....it only has about 3 quarters of the balls that a 5150 has.

He doesn't have to carry it in and out. But he does have to pay the frieght on it to get it places and he does have to pay people to carry it in the venue. If it's lighter it's cheaper to tour with...

i doubt Megadeth has any money issues to worry about........but to a working musician or even a band on a small label, this would definately be a consideration!
