So, I know Fraps is supposed to be the best program for this.

I downloaded the demo version to try it out. I like it so far.. But I can't figure out how to do the audio thing in it.

When I link it to my profire 2626, and record a video, it DOES capture the sound from my microphone, but only coming out of the left side... Anybody know how to fix this?

My essential goal is to capture video, sound from mic and the sound coming from my DAW.

this was on the fraps website:

How can I adjust the volume of the sound that is recorded?
You must configure the volume through the "Sounds and Audio Devices" item in the Control Panel. Use the following steps:

• Click on the Control Panel and select Sounds And Audio.
• Click on the Audio tab.
• Find the Sound Recording device and click Volume.

Adjust the volume for the Input that Fraps is recording from. This is usually named "What U Hear", "Record Master", or "Stereo Mixer".
If you can't see the correct Input on screen you may need to enable it by clicking on Properties in the menu and ensuring all Inputs have a check beside their name.

Sorry to bump this guys, but I really need to do a screen capture/talk through for a class I'm taking. I have to screen capture me going through a composition I'm writing in Finale for advanced harmony class.

Here's my specific problem:

When I use fraps, it captures the screen and audio from vista just fine.. It even captures audio from the internet, with very high quality.. However when I open up finale, or reaper, it doesn't capture the audio.. And on top of all of that, it's capturing what I speak into the mic, but pans it hard left.

Tim- Yeah. M-audio has a contol panel, but I'm guessing that I'm not routing correctly. ughhhhhhhh

I think I may have figured this out..

So by default, the profire's analog 1 is set to the left channel, and analog 2 is set to right... However, when I plugged it into 3, no sound at all was captured by Fraps.

So, I guess I have to setup 2 microphones, on in 1 and one in 2 to get the vocals centered... Unless there is a way to change this within the M-audio mixer?

Could you not route the output of the microphone as stereo 1-2 vs mono 1?
