Here's something to tide everyone over until the album come sout in May! Taken form the bands website:

The band has recently made available a video for the song,"Risk and Sacrifice”, which also happens to be a track from the forthcoming new album. The video footage was shot during their performance last year at the Growl at The Rally Biker event in Evanston, Wyoming, courtesy of Triamid productions.

When it was announced the new album was being moved back a month, the band said that they would have special audio/video treat for everyone, to make up for the extended wait, well here it is! Not only do you get a music video, but it’s also a track from the new album that hasn’t been released yet!

Bassist Dustin Mitchell explains in detail the story behind the video, "A friend of ours, Troy Fillmore, from Triamid Productions, who helped organize this show, had a pro-video camera on site, and mentioned to us that they were shooting a few bands for a spot on a cable program here in the intermountain west. He wanted to know if they could shoot one of our songs and we agreed to let them. Ironically, it just so happened that the song they shot us playing live, was 'Risk and Sacrifice' from the new album. Troy then contacted us a few months back and wanted a copy of the song to synch up to the footage that was shot. We got a copy of it a few weeks ago and have been holding on to it until now"

"The video isn’t really MTV quality by any stretch of the imagination (no disrespect to Troy and our brothers at Triamid who worked their asses off on it!), so don’t expect any real fireworks and special effects! However, it is actually put together and synched up rather well for a performance piece, and we were really impressed at how cool it turned out for it being shot with only one pro-video camera, the glare of the sun on us, and the wind nearly knocking us off the stage. Did I mention this was outside?"

"In short, it’s a great video that we fully endorse and want thank Troy for the great editing and hours of personal time donated in putting it together. Also thanks to Dan 'The Light Man' for filming it and getting great footage while being three-sheets to the wind! I should also mention Matt (Drums) plugs some friends of ours in a certain metal band not once, but TWICE in the video… he’s such an ass kisser. You’ll see what I mean when watching the video. My only concern was that I looked like a statue up there, possibly because I was fearful my bald head was going to get fried to a crisp under that hot Wyoming sun!”

“Anyhow, we truly hope you enjoy the video, and be sure to stop by and tell us what you think!”

Cheers!
Dustin

Twice now I've tried typing a review and hit a wrong key, my computer eating the review. (What can I say, it's late.) Gah! I'll make this brief, then.

Great vid, excellent editing and syncing (despite the natural effects of marrying a studio audio track over a live video performance, but that's a non-issue). Low-budget, of course, but a lot of fun and captures the feel of KatV live as well as the event the gig was part of. Glad to see the yellow bucket in attendance! And the wind... hey, it makes the hair look more dramatic. At least, for the band members who have hair... ;)

Looking forward to Friday night. :)

Oh yes... Matt's ever popular "yello bucket"! You are one of the very few people who knows the story as to why he MUST have that bucket with him on stage for every show.

I agree, for the budget the video was shot for... I think it was in the price range of $0, (that's zero dollars), and for that amount, it did turn out damn good!!!

..I have seen A LOT worse that were done on a several thousand $$$ budget. :loco:

As have I. Hell, that syncing issue with Lynn proffering the mic to the audience yet you can still hear him in full-on howl? I could point to Iron Maiden videos shot with multiple cameras that still suffer that, for just one heavy-handed example.

So, you all ready for a full length concert DVD? You know it's gotta happen eventually, the band's come too far for it not to. :)
