of course nothing will ever come close to obscura, but that was mostly steve hurdle's guitar playing more than luc's. if you listen to how luc's style was evolving on the first album it was still getting weirder, but in a more melodic way, steve hurdle is all about clanking noises.
this line up is closer to being dysrhythmia with gorguts sections rather than vice versa, but that's cool because i fucking love dysrhythmia.
and anyway gorguts do new shit on every record and totally change it up and still sound manage to sound fundamentally like gorguts.
