Hi, all. Time to get vintage! I sampled a 1970's Gretsch "Drop G" Stop Sign badge kit. Tom sizes were 12x9 high tom, 13x10 mid tom, and 14x14 floor tom. Recorded in 16bit, 44.1K stereo .WAV files, with left and right hand strokes. Mics used were Shure SM57 close mics panned naturally around the stereo spectrum; and as overheads, Neumann KM 84s in an x-y position as close as I could get to my head, to best approximate the sound the drummer hears from his perspective. I also sampled the 22x14 kick using an AKG D112 inside mic, a Royer R-122 outside mic, and the aforementioned Neumann overheads. I feel I created nice variation and I'd love to hear any mixes you guys choose to use them in. Feedback is welcome. Hope you all enjoy and please let me know what you think.

If anyone is willing to make TCIs, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks so much for this great forum, I look forward to your comments. :heh:

Glad you are all enjoying - the praise feels good! These are def the sickest tom samples I've made and the kick is, well, a kick. Thanks for all your kind words.

Since this is (so far) the best kit I've managed to get my hands on, I just sampled a new version. I painstakingly put together the best sounding samples and spent some time mixing the raw mic'ed tracks. The old links will work to download the new version. Please check it out and let me know what you think!
