Was Rob Flynn from Vio-lence the same Rob Flynn in Machine Head??? I was just watching a Vio-lence interview on a Hard N Heavy and one of the dudes goes "I'm Rob Flynn, guitar.."

I think thats a bit unfair, Robb himself went onto the MH website and admitted the band lost its way a little with Supercharger and he asked why the fans didnt like it and then asked all the fans what they wanted to see from Machine Head, thats more than any other musician has ever done after an album tanked, most just say the public didnt "get" what they were trying to do...

Thats because they really arent all that good They just get publicity because they are his ex band, I havent heard them but I have been told by numerous people that they arent anything too special

Robb has only over timetried to define what he considers the MH sound..but as Spawny said he admits he took it too far

Vio-lence are one of the Bay Area thrash bands from the '80s along with Exodus, Heathen, Laaz Rockit, Forbidden, etc etc. As Spawny said they are nothing special really, very generic Bay Area thrash but if you like '80s thrash you'd probably like them.

I wouldn't agree with them only being known because its Rob's ex-band though. I didn't even know Rob was in the band lol. I think most people just know them as being part of the Bay Area thing...
