This isn't exactly the newest of new news, but I didn't realize all of it behind the release (including some re-recordings) of Virgin Steele 1 and Guardians of Flame on CD. Well I didn't realize that VS 1 was being released, and I had no idea on the rarity of Guardians of Flame vinyl (which I sadly do not have). I will definitely be picking both of these up over time. Hell, Virgin Steele 1 is flat out one of the first albums to feature thrash "metal albums in existence, and perhaps the first to feature neo-classical (or neo-romantic) metal.

It's just too bad that Virgin Steele 1 is so ruined by the damned falsetto screaming of DeFeis, who later learn how to sing and became an excellent vocalist on Noble Savage and the next discs. He was already a lot better on VS-2 GotF than on the 1st album.
