Virgin Steele

I'm going to buy a Virgin Steele album soon, but I just want your opinions on what album I should buy. I was thinkin of buying maybe Invictus or one of their latest releases, but I do not know yet. I would like to hear what Virgin Steele albums you guys would recommend.

For me the best by far is The House Of Atreus Act I

Virgin Steele are not a band I'm over clued up on so it wil be interesting to see what others think

I can't help much either. I only have

The House Of Atreus Act II

Its OK, but like many concept albums it can get a bit bogged down with 'filler' songs to help tell the story.

I've seen 'em twice at the Underworld and while they can be cool for 45 mins, a long set gets boring. That being said I'd love to see them perform outside in Greek Ampitheatre or something, full of Greek metalheads going nuts.

I think that they're a bit of an acquired taste, personally.

Ive got one of their albums Hyms to Victory which i think is like a compilation of their songs. its not a bad way to start specially if you aint heard them before

Yeah, Hymns to Victory is all I have too so I can't help much either.

I agree with Chazzy though, they are an acquired taste.

I have only only heard House of Atreus I & II but did like what I heard! I think I would have to be in the mood for them though...they are not a band that would be a regular on the the CD player...if you know what I mean!
