VST Plugins

Hey everybody,

I'm using Cubase SX and I'm not really happy with the modulation plugins included with it (chorus, flanger, phaser...). Could anyone here recommand some basic free plugins (or at least not 1,000 $) for these effects ? I'm also not very happy with the distortions, I want to use some on vocals and it just doesn't work for me... any recommandations as well ?

I've used E-Phonic LOFI on vocals with good results. It's freeware.

Yes I've just discovered the GSuite and was gonna write about it, the Tube Screamer module is a pretty good distortion for the vocals in my opinion (even when using very little drive, it seems to help the vocals to blend in the mix), I like it though I must test the other included plugs and dig the Tube Screamer thing deeper... I don't know LOFI yet, but I'm gonna give it a try quickly. Too bad these DSound plugins are not downloadable as demos !!! Anyway thanks a lot you guys ! Any hint about a good pitch shifter ?

Check out the Kjaerhus Plugins. The Classic Phaser and Flanger are free and are far better than the ones in Cubase.

You should also check the "non freeware" plugins. The golden Compressor is amazing.
