I'm goin to see them tomorrow in Orlando!!!! anyone else? I'm in the Ocala area . if anyone else is, let me know and we'll caravan or something... (xopethx@cox.net) by the way, i listened to the DevilDriver CD at FYE the other day, and was surprised, actually. They remind me of As I Lay Dying mixed with a dash of Cryptopsy....oh well, it's not for everybody...

I also just heard (and heard of) Devildriver. Quite pleasantly surprised as well, very energetic, great riffage, never boring throughout the whole album.
I realize it's very different from Opeth, but my tastes tend to be anything but narrow.

They're alright...if you like fast beat nu metal, no solos, and bad vocals.. not my taste.

It was funny though, when they were on, the lead singer was like this is for the little kids with their parents..I thought..yeah must be us..I was in no movement whatsoever lol.

I was at the show last nigh. Amazing! It was my first Opeth show, and the best show I've ever been to. Moonspell was awesome (my cousin caught he drummer's stick), which I didn't expect any less form such a great band. While the vocalist was talking to the audience, some kid yelled out "You suck! Bring on DevilDriver!" So the singer said "Shut up. They're sleeping. Things take time and when you mature you'll realize that." Lots of respect for Moonspell.
Devildriver was just......eh. But my friends and my cousin were into it. Their solos weren't all that bad, but the music in general was pretty basic.

And then comes.... OPETH!

I loved every second of it! From the opening of Master's Apprentice to the end of Demon of the Fall, the show was perfect. And the organ in The Moor! Stunning. I'd have to say either The Moor , When, or In My Time of Need were my favorite songs they performed live last night. I'm still gathering myself after one hell of a night.

My rating:
Moonspell::rock: :worship:
Devildriver::err: :Puke:
Opeth: :notworthy :rock: :worship:

all the devildriver fans were annoying...can't get a much more generic numetal band than them..."here comes the fast part" ... ya, right....
lol.....a freaking 3rd grader can tune a guitar to Drop-A and let it fall on the floor...and i think the 3rd grader would still sound better than DD....
