Personally your thread encompasses the most horrifying genre of metal know to man- id much rather listen to korn. Yet if you choose to like this stuff, I guess Gamma Ray, Iron Savior, Ayreon, and Star One are what you are after.

I have not heard of this genre. Is it really that bad? It's still power metal, the lyrics are just more sci-fi not fantasy like most power metal.

I think you'd definitely enjoy Star One, maybe not Ayreon as much.

I'd also suggest Threshold. They're closer to prog, than power metal, but kind of futurey and sci-fi like, too.

No its a matter of personal taste really, if you like it fine- then it is not the worst genre. Quite talented technical musicians play in this genre, the problem is they havent heard of something called creativity.
