What do you think of this song

Hey,

My friend and I are starting a black metal side project, it is called Bog Imp. It is kind of meant to be grim black metal and some more technical stuff at the same time, let me know what you think of this song. The drums were improvised then we just added music over it later.

it says .wav, but it is actually compressed to the size of a normal mp3.. that's why it has layer 3 in the title, so don't worry, it should go quick.

Dude, this song is nuts. You seriously threw me off at 4:48, but it's weird how well you actually got it in there. I think most of the problems I found are a matter of the compression, quality wise it's similar to Ulver's Nattens Madrigal, but you've definately got some cool stuff going on in there. With better recording equipment I think it would have been much better. Keep going with this, I thought there were some parts that were a little weird, but as it gets more refined, it's really gonna blow people away.

Yeh, I know what you mean, it kicks enough ass that it doesn't matter anyway, it would just be nice if it was cleaner. I just realised I didn't say much positive about the song, which isn't what I meant to do. Basically everything that I didn't say was bad, is good. I don't know if you are the vocalist or your friend or whoever, but the vocals are really good, and you pulled like thirty million things in the song that I couldn't see coming by any stretch of the imagination. It's definately a totally new twist on a genre that I think is a little bit oversaturated with similarity.

Hey thanks man

we figure the one element in Black metal that hasn't really been taken to its extreme is percussion. We have a song we did today that is all improvised, banging on different stuff, it's like 8 minutes, its pretty cool.

I'm glad that it kept you guessing, i'm pretty proud of that recording.. I really like the choir after the little guitar solo.
