This is a writing by Timothy Leary, you can find the chapter in Leary's book "The Politics of Ecstacy." See how that works Leary's book with the chapter. Nevermore's album with the song. Anyway the song basically correlates with the writing. The writing is about life and choices of religion and such things, about the psychedelic experience, about the human ego and just how to turn on. I would suggest reading the work of Leary to fully understand where Dane comes from.
