What mix (guitars) is better?

So the tracking guitars with meat thread got me trying to get more beef to my guitars.


So which one you like better? Guitar wise....i know the drums lack.....But thats just me. lol

BTW, both have same bass and drums.

2w sounds like you threw a blanket over the cab, hehe.

If you are referring to the thread about meaty guitars and fizz, to me both of these clips still have a healthy dose of fizz...Just sounds like one is muffled over the other.

Both tones are workable though to me.

Its actually the same EQ on both clips...

Just a high and lo pass at 60 and 12000

really? the difference is VERY noticeable on the high end. What EQ did you use? I can only imagine the HP an LP filters have a VERY gradual slope that starts quite a bit earlier than what frequency you select. It sounds like you used the Cubendo channel EQ's. They have gentle slopes that IMO that are spread too far from the designated points. Using filters with steep cutoffs, I don't think you'd hear much difference.

To me the first is better but with a little reduce in mids could be even better.

Well one clip is 2 amps....the other is just one amp

so the comparison is pretty much not at all a good one. I think if you were trying to hone some skills for adding meat, you wouldn't compare 2 clips that for most intents and purposes are no where near the same.
