weird math converting from 48 to 44.1 for CDs aside, your resolution (bit depth) is far more important than whether you track at 48 or 44.1... you kinda need to know that one buddy... and the answer should be 24.... always.

theres a big difference when you're combining several tracks recorded at 48 as opposed to 44, to my ears

yes, I'm aware of summing but I didn't see the connection between 48/44, have to check

I just read a bunch of threads on GS, everybody seems to have a different opinion on summing... as always

I just thought the main difference is between analog and all ITB summing but not that the 48k would make a BIG noticeable difference if any...

24 bit 44.1. I don't hear any significant advantages when recording any higher, or mixing any higher. Music is important... figures and bitrates less so.
