What to improve here? CRO-MAGS-styled band

Very cool sounding, especially the instruments (I'd prefer more pissed-off sounding vocals a la Backfire for instance).

I tried to get the singer to scream a little more and "sing" a little less, but he insisted on singing everything.

Thanks on the other comments. I agree on the guitars. I'll try to find someone who can reamp through a jcm800.

Drums are DFHS2, btw.

everythings got a nice tone to it, good job dude. Sounds like the vox could use some more reverb though, and if you could do some gang vocals on the "take a risk" part at the end, you'd be sittin pretty

wow...impressive mix and music, definately got that Cromags vibe but man...that singer just ruins it. He needs a little John Joseph 101 attitude in those vocals....maybe a little growl in the vocals too. Awesome mix though

Wow the guitars are SO out of time in the first verse, ~:30 - ~:60. Oh god they're out of time all over. :/ They sound good though but Jesus Christ..
Drums sound good, although I'm not particularly liking the snare, probly just taste though. The kick seems to be pretty loud in spots too.
I agree the singer sucks.. good singers seem to be that much harder to find than good musicians.. or maybe its just they can't be edited as much (except for pop ;p).

Yeah the guitars are off time really bad in a lot of places. The guitar tone is good though. The drums sound real good as well. Im not much on vocals like others have said, but everything in the mix sounds pretty good to me. The things that need to be improved are the timing with the guitars, better vocals. Recording quality is excellent.

Thanks bros!
It's not the guitar players fault - actually I have to admit it ... I got some latency and didn't notice it. He always claimed that something sounds weird, as if he was playing faster than the sounds come out of the headphone. So, it's my noobishness, that ruined the recording :D

Yesterday the singer called me and said, that he is absolutely not happy with his performance. He takes singing-lessons since a couple of months and thought, that he could do it pretty tight. So, we're getting together again.

Can you give me some tips on the gang-vocals? I did it twice before. Got me some big dudes with dark voices and live it sounded absolutely stunning. Then recorded it was pussy-ville again. Totally thin. Recorded via SM58, btw.

I'll bring up the verb a bit, thanks on this one!!! :)

And thank you all for the comments - I appreciate it. You rock!

The guitars are still a little off on the palm mutes especially at the end of the song but it's a lot better than it was before. I thought it might have been some kind of software glitch when I was listening to the song before you updated it. It was weird that the guitars were off with the drums but the guitars were on with the other guitars. Other than that hopefully when the singer redoes the vocals they will sound a little better. That's the main thing I'm not digging in this song.

+1

Hadn't had the chance to get the singer in again, so I finished another song (this time without singing ;) )

I'm pretty proud of it, since it surely is my best mix so far. Anyhow, I know there's a lot to improve. The vocals are sitting a bit "on top" of the rest and adding more reverb doesn't do the trick alone.

So ... here it is ...
