Nice question. The finish doesn't help much. From the neck joint, where the finish has come off, seems like padouk.
Take a look here, might be of use...

With that grain (and not knowing the true color) it could be Mahogany, Walnut, Rosewood or Padouk.

Either way its not cheap wood (like Alder)

Considering the chipped area between the pickups reveals the same colored wood as you see in the neck pocket, I seriously doubt that is a laminated body.

And as was already stated, a laminated mahogany top would be kind of odd.

Guys, trust Will (Metalhead) on this Think it might be Agathis though, Will? I've never seen it before, but I've read it's related to mahogany (but way cheaper, and that body doesn't exactly look top-grade )

Oh yeah, it's possible. Could be several different things really.

Guessing at wood species from a pic like that is a total crapshoot.
