I am a huge Van Halen (Roth era) fan and a friend of mine, since I was about 11, is the worlds biggest David Lee Roth fan. He keeps me updated on Roth/Van Halen news. Apparently Eddie Van Halen had tongue cancer and has received treatment. Ever since Gary Cherone left (split, got fired, etc...) there have been rumours about a reunion with Roth. But when VH screwed Roth back in 1996 at the MTV awards, Roth said he wouldn't get back with Van Halen unless he had lawyers and some valium. In my opinion, both the last few Van Halen and Roth albums have been crap except for Roths DLR Band Album with Mike Hartman and John Lowery on guitars. I did like Roth's Eat 'Em And Smile and Van Halen's 5150. Roth with Steve Vai and Billy Sheehan live was awesome and one of the best bands assembled. Anyway, apparently Roth and Van Halen have written some material together. One Website (I forget which one) had a track listing and song titles for this supposed Reunion album. In closing, my friend who is 32 now, saw Roth last summer at a festival with Bad Company and said he was in good shape, doing kicks and flips, and that he did all Van Halen songs (Roth era of course) and only two songs from his solo material. I'll Shut up now. Cheers
