I just got the Iced Earth box set. I was looking through the liner notes and one of their albums was recorded in a week, another in fifteen days. This isn't simple music, either.

So what is taking Anthrax so long to record their album?

what label is Iced Earth with? There's a lot of legal red tape concerned with producing albums. Sometimes I think bands should do away with the labels because they fuck them out of album sale money.
But I get impatient too, It sucks to know that the album is finished but you have to wait for the legal stuff.

You know, I hate to admit it but Anthrax isn't as young as they once were. You also have to factor in that they just barely signed to a new label, and John was married recently. I think with all that considered, the album really isn't being delayed too bad. If it wasn't for the attacks(world trade center), we certainly would have seen this album much sooner. Especially since the Thrax/Priest tour was delayed, but ohhh well. I feel ya though, I wish I could hear it right now!

Cheerz!

Actually, I don't think it would have been MUCH sooner. They were scheduled to tour all fall. They probably wouldn't have started til January if they toured with the first schedule. All they did was record some first, tour, and then record some more later. It's probably about the same time frame, give or take a few weeks. It's not like they planned it 3 years ago and are still trying to get it done. Besides, recording isn't the only thing that needs to get done. They have to worry about mixing and mastering, artwork, layout, etc. Give in a break for Bush and that puts them at about right where they are.

Plus it was RECORDED in 15 days, there was still time between albums for the writing and composing of the music. At least there faster than Boston.

 LMFAO at the Boston joke. We're showing our age now CV, most people on this board are going "Huh, the Celtics, the Sox, Boston, what's he mean"

i know this sounds so cliche but this is probably the most important album of there lives, lets face it people they have had so much trouble with labels and stuff they prob wanna make sure they have there there side running 100% before the record company stuff is sorted out so they can get good promotion for the album.

i think although we have waited awhile for other albums in the past i always think they missed promoting the record. Used to always see ads month after it came out or not in conjuction with metal mag releases being that alot of mags only publish once a month eg metal hammer metal edge!!!

time to get it right and i am quietly confident that all will go well this time round!!!

cheers
