where is everyone?

i got that jettatura review almost ready to send you; should finish it tonight. sorry about the wait. opeth and cumberland gap are on the way.

also i spent a couple hours researching for ?s for cave in over the weekend, and will do more tonight. seriously guys, let me know if you've got some stuff you want asked. this is one of the first interviews i've done in a while; i think nagash was the last one i interviewed, when he was in dimmu borgir- asked him if corpse paint got in his eyes when he played live, and if they'd ever consider releasing black metal action figures.

i'll ask cave in about the summer reading thing too if you want.

if it's not already on your list, ask Cave In about the new major label hardcore bands the scene's increasing publicity. And don't let em front like they never were part of the scene either.

that would be cool eric... (the summer reading thing)

manda... you TOTALLY have to fill in for alex while he is gone. i'm going to need you to not update your editorial for a month and not do a review... maybe, if you have time, you could not to a show review too.

I'm catching up on missed work. Got some outlining done but the whole inadvertent four day vacation bit has me a touch off schedule.

from the interviews i've read, they willingly acknowledge the scene they came from, although they mention that they don't particularly care for the people from that scene who say they hate the new stuff- like they'd rather those people not listen to them any more. but they do seem to still sort of be proud of where they came from, and consider themselves an underground-music style band riding on a major label to see how far they can go - or something like that. i'm totally paraphrasing.

but yeah, i'll mention it- that was sort of the aspect i wanted to take at this thing- like a sort of crossing over, and the things that have come with it. but i also wanna know about the side projects, music, etc.

I am in downtown Boston. It's OK. I want clam chowder or something.

The lobsters in "Finding Nemo" were from Boston! ("It was wicked dahk in theh...") and I seriously laughed for 20 minutes and then spilled my entire bag of reese's pieces on the theater floor. ( <3 lobsters. )

for the record, Poison the Well's new major label debut is totally the heavy hardcore-ish record that a lot of people hoped Cave In would make. Dunno if they'd care, but it could spur conversation...

oh man a week in the woods and i end up with BURNS that aren't just from the campfire.

jake, if i do too many editorials about camping, your 80,000 readers will all think i'm some sort of record-reviewing Grizzly Adams.
