wherein a week old mcd costs 70 ameridollars

I liked it a lot more than I was expecting, because I thought it would be more like the noisy Grey EP. But no, it's pretty much just regular Agalloch-music, a bit more acoustic-y, I guess. So my problem with it is that it just felt very fragmentary, like a bunch of half-finished ideas and B-sides rather than a deliberate "statement".

I bought "Of Stone, Wind, and Pillor" when it came out, just as a natural part of an order from The End, before I had any idea that there are crazy rich Agalloch fans who pay tons of money for their EPs; I only found that out years later. The last one on ebay went for $187.50. It's surely the most valuable CD I own, but I never would have guessed it. I still completely don't understand where this market comes from. I really should sell it someday, since I don't give a crap about owning it.

they didn't exist back then. only lately has agalloch become the hottest of ebay fodder... i bought the original demo tape from a distro for 3 euros a couple of YEARS after pale folklore was released... noone had a very big interest back then.

anyway. i'm loving "birch white", very stereotypically neo-folk, but works quite well. "hollow stone", too, is noteworthy for being their first ambient piece that feels meaningful.

I do not have mine yet but did receive word it would show up soon. My dumbass dropped the ball on the order window but apparently I squeezed in, much like as with butter. I knew it would quickly become eGay shite, but $70 is like €8 these days.

I loved The Grey EP. Looking forward to this one.

Fucking hell... I already want to sell my copy if its gonna go that fucking high.

Then again, give it 2 years and it'll be fucking up there.

I think the pale folklore are still going for more than I make a month at work, and the AATG go for a little less than that.

The Pale Folklore box and the 2 track tape demo are the only things I'm missing from my Agalloch collection... but theres no way in hell I'm paying the amount people want for those.

I hear this sounds like an actual neo-folk band more than it sounds like Agalloch.

This makes me think I shoulda ordered dem shitz way before they turned into OOP WTF RARE HTF L@@K!!!1 kinda shit

nuts, I should've ordered this thing. After the junk that was that thing in a box I wouldn't have expected them to turn it around with some zazzy neo-folk replete with the Wicker Man. That's like ... BEST THING EVER?

yeah it's pretty good.

i estimate that if i sold my agalloch collection right now i would make at least $1300
