Funny you mentioned that; just some hour ago there was a nice documentry about the "Atkins diet" on TV.

The results of the research on this diet was that the proteins makes the appetite less, and that it is the calorie-intake that is controlling how much you gain / lose in weight, not the fat / "magical combustion" etc.
