Well I suppose it would have to be something that could possibly challenge our position in the food chain. Maybe some weird Megalodon that developed great intelligence. Then again, what would it do? destroy ships? eventually they would all be culled.

I think it would have to be some other kind of highly evolved primate that could form complex societies and technologies.

Fuck you guys. Probably my most traumatic childhood memory involved wasps. My grandpa had a fishing boat that he hadn't used in years, and I was probably 4 or 5. I was playing on it, and little known to anyone, there was a wasp nest hidden under one of the bench seats. I accidentally disturbed it, and they swarmed out at me. One stung me on the lip and my fucking lip was swollen for days and gave me a temporary speech impediment, and my bitchy teenage sisters teased me incessantly for it. Thanks a lot assholes, now I need to back to therapy for the next 6 weeks. . . . . . .
