Which guitar sounds better?

I've got a Musicman Luke that I've never really liked much, so I thought I'd do a little comparison and see which one you guys think sounds better. I used an Ibanez S series with dimarzio pickups to compare with - a guitar that I do like, yet is only 1/3 the price of the EBMM. I didn't touch the amp settings or anything, I just swapped guitars and everything else is constant, including volume levels. (This is a 6505+ combo into a Mesa 4x12 w/ sm57)

Probably not much difference, but they sound vastly different while playing. Which do you guys prefer?

I think they both could serve different purposes, I feel the Ibanez sits on top of the mix a little to much which could be taken care of with some eq on the highs but the musicman just felt like it sat in the mix a lot better, tied it all together in my opinion.

But as a guitar player I have to agree that I'm not crazy about the Luke model, I'm not a huge fan of low profile frets, give me my railroad tracks any day

preferred the ibanez, but the musicman sounded a little out of tune a few times

Ibanez, by far, for me. I agree it needs some EQ in the mix, but the raw sound is much better.
What kind of DiMarzio did you play with ?

I liked the Musicman in your tests. It sounded slightly less nasal, and in the single note riff section it sounded thicker, which gives the impression of a warmer sound.

How old were the strings for both?
