Anyone have any thoughts on who Chris sounds like when he sings?

thats him singing? well, christ.... hmmm... i hear King Diamond, John Arch, and Messiah Marcolin

On a few lines the vocals reminded me a bit John Greely from Iced Earth.
John sang on the "Night Of The Stormrider" album, and delivered a very solid vocal performance. A great mid range singer, who could growl rather well & belt out the occasional Halford like shrieks.

And as for the King Diamond in Chris's voice.....no way
Until he sings "Two Little Girls" from "The Eye" there isnt any King Diamond in the overall vocal style.
