I've got one too! Mine's on Monday and it's my very first. Any tips? When's yours?
I have to talk to them tomorrow, it might be as soon as this friday, if not then it would be next friday, due to my work schedule. Its a niche company specializing in paramedics for insurance exams, but they're supposedly pretty successful. Small office (which I prefer) MORE MONEY, and best of all: NOT KINKOS. Hope it pans out...

You've never had a job interview before? Hmm, well, an American job interview might be a very different experience, but maybe not. The best thing is to be well thought out and rehearsed with any information you expect that you will have to give the interviewer. You can never know exactly what someone is going to ask you, and you will always have some surprises, but you can have the most common and important info at the top of your mind in an organized, clear manner so you sound confident and well-spoken. Everyone will tell you to maintain comfortable eye contact (i.e. don't stare your potential employer down, but don't appear shifty and nervous by avoiding eye contact), look and act mature and professional, and find out as much as you can about the company so you can best be prepared to anticipate questions and hopefully make a good impression by already having knowledge of their business.

@Abbey: Thank you :grin:

@Wandrail: What I meant was I've never had an important interview before, nothing for a job that requires special skills, so I wasn't nervous. Thanks for the advice. I'm hoping I won't get stumped by a question :)

I'm excited yeah, because I hate my current job, its just gone insane where I work right now. We're waaay understaffed, overworked and underpaid, and it only looks like its getting worse, which is unbelievable. Plus, this job would pay at least a couple more dollars an hour, and that would be great. I'm usually pretty confident when going into interviews, I'm just going to spend some time tonight looking over their website alot and getting as much info. about their industry as I can so I'm prepared to talk about it in the interview. I tend to come off a little weird, I think, so I have to really remind myself to loosen up a bit and make eye contact without giving these unintentional...Clint Eastwood glares.

Woke up this morning and its 75 degrees, the air is full of fucking huge bumblebees and wasps and the sun is out. Spring showed up while I was asleep, apparently.
