Books would be fantasy I think.

Movies I don't mind much what sort it is, apart from those bad horror movies.

Hmm.. I think you would enjoy the Dark Tower series by Stephen King, if you've never read them. Redwall by Brian Jacques is good as well, but it's aimed at younger readers.

Movies.. hmm.. I'd recommend the original Solaris, Pi, and Attila.

And yes I ought to try and read stephen king once more, although I never read the Dark Tower series.
