Who gets the last word in?

This is definately the most user-friendly forum on UM. I have found solace in it many times.

As for Leisure Suit Larry, heh, i remember trying to play that game on my old grandparent's computer back around 1991-2 or something like that.... i could never figure out how to play it because it always asked for your age and i kept saying under 13.... it would never let me in. Thankfully my cousin installed leisure suit larry 5 on my new computer a couple years later.

Glad you like it here Sunlapse.

Wow Liesure Suit Larry, I was actually just thinking about him for some reason recently. Probably the white suit thing. Plus earlier when I was smilie gathering I saw a .gif that was remanicent of Larry. I should have dragged and dropped him.

well the first king's quest games were great because they retained the most of the format of the old text games like zork, where part of the quasi-open eneded fun was to discover all the commands that could be used or typed in the command field to elicit an action/response at any point in the game. King's Quest 2 was probably my favorite. I remember the part where I noticed a little hole in a bush on one screen, so i went to it, and typed in look in hole...and he did...and then it gave a preview thingy of the first space quest game...pretty damn cool, I thought.

Hi Wandrail! I haven't seen you around a lot latley. I gather that things have been to your likeing in the world at large. Good to see you here now!

Yo there, Abbey. I've just been working and trying to work some more on music lately...and...uh...i've been playing a shameful amount of Medieval: Total War. I took the hard road in the name of my ancestors and dammit if I haven't just about conquered all the british isles for the Irish. :D Just finishing up mopping the remains of the scots, and I move on to continental domination. :heh:
Work sucks as usual, still might be moving to cincinnati, still trying to find a new job, still trying to find a woman sort of, and my Dad just got back from Iraq, which is good news. That's what's up with me.

I always think of you on Mondays, because it the end of my work week, and I'm looking around for a new job to. I might actually find something that meets my criteria if I was just a little more aggressive in the searching phase. Somehow I thought you met a new woman recently?

Glad to hear your Dad is home. I've been thinking, if you would be willing, there is something I think you would be adept at helping me out with. Shamefully I have never voted. Not that I did'nt want to, simply I really don't know anything about politics. My contention has always fallen on making an educated, informed decision vs. an blind guess. If you would be willing to help get me started, I know I have to vote in the Primary to vote for the Presidential. I know I have to register with a platform, but I have no inkling which one. Come to think about it I'm sure there has to be a Politics for Dummies book in publication, thats something I could do to help myself. Since I already asked though, any input or suggestions you have for me I would appreciate.

I miss the old adventure games. Does anyone know how to run them on win2k? I can't get Larry 7 to work.

Yeah, I think it was the white suit that sparked my interest again.

Im not sure if this would help, but on WinXP (and possibly on Windows 2k,) there is a compatibility program that helps make older programs work on newer versions of Windows.... I'm not sure whether it would work on a whole game, or whether 2k even has it for that matter.... but it might be worth looking into.
