Who gets the last word in?

I always think of you on Mondays, because it the end of my work week, and I'm looking around for a new job to. I might actually find something that meets my criteria if I was just a little more aggressive in the searching phase. Somehow I thought you met a new woman recently?

Glad to hear your Dad is home. I've been thinking, if you would be willing, there is something I think you would be adept at helping me out with. Shamefully I have never voted. Not that I did'nt want to, simply I really don't know anything about politics. My contention has always fallen on making an educated, informed decision vs. an blind guess. If you would be willing to help get me started, I know I have to vote in the Primary to vote for the Presidential. I know I have to register with a platform, but I have no inkling which one. Come to think about it I'm sure there has to be a Politics for Dummies book in publication, thats something I could do to help myself. Since I already asked though, any input or suggestions you have for me I would appreciate.
Well, first thing is you don't have to vote in a primary to vote in the general election - you don't have to do anything except register to vote, and no matter what you're registered as, you of course can vote however you wish.

http://www.fec.gov/elections.html Follow his link and scroll a bit down the page to a section titled 'Registering to Vote'. There's form you can fill out there and more info. As far as educating yourself on who to vote for, personally, the I think it is imperative to understand this nation, its founding principals and its constitution and not as a living breathing document, but as the concrete unmoving rock of freedom its meant to be. That's of course for you to figure out but you know, there's my two cents. I would say if you have a radio handy to tune into talk radio for lots of good substantive discussion and info. any time - especially between the hours of 12:00pm and 3:00pm and 4:00pm and 7:00pm. :D At these times Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity come on various stations, but there are also plenty of liberals out there telling their sid eof things...I wouldn't recommend listening to them if you value your braincells, but hey, what can you do?

Educate yourself also on the candidates and where they stand on the issues (which may be a bit tough with Kerry because he stands everywhere on the issues, apparently) and make up your own mind about things. However, I must impart to you my desire that americans stop looking at the president and government in terms of 'what will they provide for me?'. That's not the role of government in our society. Move to France where their new aristocracy would be glad to hand you whatever crumbs of what should have been your money that fall off their tables (www.thedissidentfrogman.com <-the best hope for US/French relations, btw)- look at the candidates in terms of which one will best allow business to improve and you to provide for yourself. That is all.

OH and find out where you can vote when the time comes...I don't know if they've got those mapped out yet but i'll check on it and see if I can find a link to any postings.
