I agree at least partially, I can't stand the structure or the condescension of formal school, its not suited to adults. Many of the more advanced things I know are things I have learned on my own through experience and personal interest, however, there are thing that a formal, specific education can give you in terms of accuracy and well-roundedness of knowledge in an area that is harder to get on your own. All the same, tons of people (including many I have worked with) come out of four+ years of college with a big head, $20,000 debt, a piece of paper, and no real idea what to do once they actually get a position in their field. I tell myself I need to go back to school, but I find it hard to commit to because I really don't desire to be in that environment. I haven't been in school for 5 years, I can't imagine having to put up with being treated like one of the youths, not to mention having to endure being around them.~metal_maiden~ said:You don't need to go to school to learn everything. It's just sad that you need a number on a piece of paper to tell you how smart you are so you can pass it on to your employer... I graduated from high school... that's enough for me...
It was slow as hell at that moment.~metal_maiden~ said:Why does it suck?
