That's my own track Niall, put vocals on it at one point but it turned out

I would die for that tone. It's a perfect thrashtone ala Exodus/Heathen.
Would you share some more information about the making of that tone?
I already read that its a SD-1 into channel od2 of the JVM, but what about mikes , eq and plugins to get that tone?
Just a SM57 wont get me that tone.

I would love to know how he gets this lively exodus/heathen/anthrax/overkill sound. I can get a tight palmmutesound, but he has that extra in the mids/high erea and i'm pretty sure its more than just mikeplacement or simple eq'ing.

"Hey KD, I got that tone with a boss sd-1, the jvm and a Marshall mode four cab with g12k-100 speakers (seriously underrated) I have 2 v30s in the same cab and they don't come close to the g12ks, in that cab anyway. Settings on the JVM were bass 12 o clock, mids 11 o clock and treble 3 o clock. Resonance and presence 12 o clock. SM57 touching the cloth about 2 inches off dead center of the speaker. That was pretty much it, just a low and hi pass filter as usual. Hope this helps."
