man, and i just fucking ordered superior 2.0 too! ahhh!!!...

i think i found the sound i like, but the snare is still iffy. no multichannel, same settings in the EZ mixer as the last time. exept the snare is the Sonor 1 snare. This song was a lot of fun to write/record. i wanted to keep things simple. Cubase 4 LE, only stock plugins, except on the 2 buss i got sonalksis limiter going. I wasted all this fuckin money on plugs when the stock ones are good 'nuff. i think i'll still play with s2.0 and see if i like it better. if y'all like, i'll get some screens to show whats up when i can get the time (and interwebs).

No Thanks

Honestly, I've never liked the kick sounds from DFH and the stock sounds in general are just so recognizable now. It's a great tool for laying down ideas, but SD2.0 and AD go a lot further in terms of usability.

like mentioned in threads before, EZXDFH is pretty good, but yeah, it IS VERY recognizable. fuck, a year ago everyone loved it. now its like, so 2006. uh, yyahhh. heheh. AD pisses me off because like grywolf said, 3 cymbals and some hats isn't enough. the cymbals in EZXDFH sound pretty nice, i think. but the rest of the drums ARE quite undefined and kind of slurr/smear into eachother in faster/complicated parts. that kind of bugs me. hopefully i'll like s2.0 as much as EZX has done for me!

honestly, I think a lot of crap EZX gets is just the eliteism and trendyness (i see more gearslutz like posts here lately, haha!). so far, a lot of the s2.0 stuff sounds good, tone wise. but it sounds A LOT more mechanical to my ears.

Sounds good Cyanide , your are killer riffer .

It´s just me, but when i frist heard Ziltoid, and realize that Devin was using ezd it was like a big WTF ?
Now i actually like the album and the drums dont bother me , i started to like the mix by now .
The thing is , he made a record using a piece of software that many people bash it. Devin knows his shit ¡

Yeah sounds good dude! I usually blend a little the EZs kick and snare with other samples to give them more body.

I like the sounds of AD, but I don't like being limited to only 3 cymbals. I always fall back on EZDFH...at least for the cymbals.

+1 on that man, they may sound a little thin, but hey I can get thru this since theres so many of them haha

yeah! Ziltoid is what made me stick with EZX for a while, i used to always change it, eq, comp, transient, etc. but fuck it, when you change it, it loses its nice 'sheen'. i just add a touch of room verb. if the ezx drums were a little more defined and not as thin, wouldn't need to get S2.0....

...which leads to a question...

WTF is with toontrack? I ordered S2.0 through amazon a couple weeks ago, the seller said they were in stock (and ready to ship! hah!). yesterday, i get an email saying i have to download it because they have "joined waves" with that goddamn online distribution. fucking bullshit. i don't have an Internet connection at home (no need for one, i write/record shit all day). there is no way i can download however many Gigabytes it is. My chances of getting a refund are Nil. so i may be out 300 bux. ballz.
