Awesome, TX
I was a fortunate enough to catch them on the Refuge Denied Tour opening for Megadeth/Warlock in Norfolk, VA. Awesome show.

Was supposed to see the Mirror Black tour in DC and had to sell my ticket at the last minute. Balls!

I believe I saw the same tour...

Megadeth / Sanctuary / Warlock at Toads Place in Connecticut. May have been in Jersey though. Not positive, didn't know who Sanctuary was then but the guitarist in Warlock was like my G/F at the times uncle or some bullshit.

After seeing the show I became an immediate fan. Got to talk to WD after the show. We were both 2 sheets to the wind so god knows what we talked about. But I have been a fan ever since that show. I think it was 89 or 90. So long ago I barely remember.

EDIT: (called my cousin who went with me)
HAHAHA .. no it was Beacon Theater in NYC! .... lol
God i was wasted (stoned) that night...lol

I saw the same tour (Megadeth, Warlock and Sanctuary) in Fayetteville, NC. I went out and bought the Refuge Denied album the very next day. I've been hooked every since.

Well being that i have lived in seattle since 1980 i have seen them many times i used to even go to vinces pizza place with my older brothers to see jim and warrel work . I have had the pleasure to
see the band many times i even got to see serpants knight ( thanks to my older brother driving me to some vfw hall )
i have been a follower for many many years and have loved everything musicaly they have done.
I personaly cant count how many times but it sure hasnt been enough for me

I saw Sanctuary with Fates Warning in Tampa on 4/20/1990 (wow - over 20 years ago!). To this day, it is still one of the most memorable shows I've ever been to and I've told the story more than a few times. I played in a band that was heavily into prog-metal and we loved FW, so we were there only for them and after they opened the show, we almost left. Me and my buddies were standing at the back of the club, with arms folded in a typical dickhead way, as we thought that FW was the best and they shouldn't have been opening for anybody. I still remember turning to one of my friends and saying "let's just watch one song from these guys to see what they are all about". That turned out to be one of the best decisions I've ever made, because after that we were all pushing to the front of the stage and I just stared in amazement as they tore it up and just blew me away. Seeing a guy like Warrel with hair down to his ass, just wailing away with this incredible voice and hearing these awesome guitar rhythms really made an impression, and I even ended up buying a Sanctuary shirt (instead of a FW shirt) that I wore forever until it had holes and simply couldn't take any more washings!

The next day, I drove to a record store (remember those?) and bought Refuge Denied and Mirror Black, and I knew I had found my new favorite band. Everybody in my band was just incredibly influenced by their music and lyrics and it quickly became an obvious influence in our sound. To this day - Sanctuary/Nevermore remains my #1 favorite band, and as I told Jim after a show a few years ago - I root for them like I do my favorite football team. I applaud WD and Jim for keeping at it for so long in a tough industry, and for finding great guys to keep their vision alive with Nevermore.

Well, I guess I'm old. I was 15 when I saw them 11/28/87 opening for Megadeth. I think it was a couple weeks before Refuge Denied was released. Expecting just another lame opening band, my brother and I were blown away by the awesomeness. Sanctuary is still the only band that made me a fan from a live show.

Saw them again in May of 90 on the Into the Mirror Black tour, but it wasn't Fates Warning opening.
