Indeed, they are black metal Mr. Toby. Well, at least their 1st and 3rd albums are. Their second album is sort of a neo-folk/ quasi-baroquish kind of deal. The rest of their more recent stuff is experimental/ambient/electronic. The two black metal albums by them that you may want to check out are Bergtatt and Nattens Madrigal (I'm warning you right now, the production on this one is not pleasant). Try em out, if that kind of thing interests you.
