Yes the string arrangements are not subtle. Against my usual tendencies, however, I love it. I like how big and vampy things are. Overall there is a ton of stuff on this I absolutely love - but unlike previous records there are a couple of total stinkers on here. You mentioned "Window" and yeah that's a completely terrible song. The line that she often straddles where you're not sure if youre listening to something awesome or teeny angst vaults to the teen angst and it's a bummer. But the opener, "Get Him Back" and the one with the bells on the upbeats are all awesome. I wasn't sure about Get Him Back but that chord change near the end of the verse sold me all by itself.
So yeah, inconsistent but i dig it.
