i think mike would agree, as he said in the lamentations DVD, something like, we dont go into the studio and record the same record again and again like the chili pepers do.

I like some of Tom petty's CDs. The Red Hot Chili Peppers is a band I can say I never really got into.

I hate the RHCP because they suck live. and they have no talent. I hear Flea is an awesome trumpet player though and also crack smoker.

Oh My God, there are acoustic folk apergio on all songs of the latest Opeth ! Fuckin amazing ! Never heard that before !
Its more incredible than that, the song starts with evil riffs and growls and suddenly ( surprise !!!), you are in the mliddle of a Nick Drake tune !

Try to convince me that Opeth doesn't rely on a formula and for that matter pretty much every band in existence !!!
 
i saw a live dvd, and liked some of the stuff on there. they have a few stand-out songs. and, they certainly do their own thing. but, they do a lot of the same shit over and over.

lol anyone has a formula. If there was no formula, there'd be no music. Although the RHCP's sound has become somewhat repetitive, I am delighted that they are experimenting with the cocksock.

true enough. however Opeth once in a while throws a few curveballs, on GR especially. RHCP you could set your watch to.
