LADIES MAGS VS. PRESIDENT BUSH

These women's magazines should stop playing politics and start telling the real story.

Seeing a newly liberated woman shed her burka and walk down the street with her head held high commands, at the very least, an acknowledgement that our in involvement in this region is not without merit. Bush is a global champion of women's rights.

I agree but ONLY with the major caveat that Bush had better do everything in his power to ensure womens' rights are protected in Afghanistan and Iraq for a long time to come. My understand is that so far, things are looking shaky, so I wouldn't call him a global champion of womens' rights until I'm convinced they're not ephemeral. Maybe in ten years, in retrospect, I'll concede to it.
