Not sure how it compares to their previous works, but I dig this disc. Crushing, well produced Death Metal. Excellent disc.

Just a guess, not my opinion.
For the 1000th time, you should be!JayKeeley said:...I'm keen to hear Shadows & Dust.
It actually reminded me of that too, but I refrained from making the comparison, because I don't listen to a lot of what I would consider Brutal Death. And when you don't listen to much within a given genre, you tend to make shallow comparisons.JayKeeley said:Serenity in Fire reminds me a little of Dechristianize-lite.
Everything but debut CDs, recorded on four-tracks in someone's basement, when the band was in their late teens is boring to the elitists. I'm not sure what these people have against actually being able to hear the instruments, but if it doesn't sound like it was recorded in mono and mastered to cassette tape, they aint happy.markgugs said:... boring to the elitists.
Hmmm...JayKeeley said:My goat Zod, I just realized that you would cream your pants if you heard Decapitated's Nihility.
I feeling a certain stirring down below. Will look into it. Thanks for the recommendation.JayKeeley said:Clean, precise, industry machine-like death metal. Decapitated are like the death metal equivalent of Nevermore.
Go download "Spheres of Madness" and thank me later.General Zod said:Hmmm...

Yeah, but that will always be a flaw inherent within straight-up death metal. If you stick to the confines of the genre recipe, you're always going to be stagnant. But as far as technicality and sound goes, however, I'd say they're on a level playing field. In fact, I'd say that the Decapitated drummer is one of the best in the DM business.Demonspell said:I wouldn't get overly excited...there may be superficial similarities, but in terms of depth and songwriting ability they're no match for Nevermore.
