Because he is a great show-man, duh. The way he performs on stage is incredible and, in the words of MeatLoaf "they are pretty much the same now aren't they?", acting and performing a song, that is.

And yes, it's fake.

Well- people do get hurt pretty bad in that show- if they are not paying attention that is! Russell has some pretty interesting scars... one you can see actually- right above the hairline in the middle of his head when a sword whacked him pretty good (twice!) a while back- just because a sword is blunt- doesn't make it any less of a weapon. Instead of shaving the hair off, and getting proper stitches, he took the scar for granted and had the wound stapled instead. (oh, was that too graphic?)

As for acting: Russ has been asked by a friend to stuntperform (at least) in movies like A Knight's Tale etc, somehow he never really found the time to do it. He'd love to act in a movie (like LOTR) though- well- who knows?
Casting directors can drop him a line at... hehehehe

If Russ would play (some kind of) Aragorn, then Teddy from Loch Vostok could play Gimli (he really looks like a dwarf), now who is gonna be Legolas? Some tall blond guy.... why not Arjen?
