Why was Demonic not as good as The Gathering and Low? I'm not saying Demonic is a bad album! Its brutal as shit!! But somehow some songs were not catchy enough. Maybe because James Murphy wasnt on the album? Will he be on the new album? I heard he has a brainumor? Can anyone tell me about his conditions?

I like Demonic, but don't really think ofit as a Testament album...it rules though...Fave songs- Murky Waters, New Eyes of Old, Demonic Refusal...good stuff!

I like Demonic, and I think it was a necessary album for them to make, they just cleansed themselves of everything and just went all out heavy,, and I don't think The Gathering would've been so good if it wasn't for Demonic.

Its a very brutal album, but not a real a Testament album. :( More like some death metal band. I heard at this time they we're even thinking about changing the bandname into Dog Faced Gods :(

My favourite tracks are Burning Times and Jun Jun. Really brutal stuff!:(

Demonic was so fucking refreshing. I was totally psyched to hear TestAmenT grow, expand and experiment with a different sound/style. I never cared for "Low" that much it sounded too much like they were trying to ride that sound that was popular at the time and "The Ritual" was pretty weak, so for me Demonic was definetly a plus!
My favorite will ALWAYS be "The Legacy" becuase that album is 100% pure thrash metal and thats the shit that makes my blood boil!

Yeah, Eric and Gene were supposed to form a new band called Dog Faced Gods. I guess Chuck was a part of it too. But when Eric wrote the songs, he realized that they sound like Testament so they just decided to make another Testament album out of it.

And although Demonic is my fave Testament CD, I do prefer thrash over death metal.

They should have made a Testament release out of Rapture; it sounds just like Testament too!

The whole "Dog Faced Gods" thing was born of a legal wrangling with Atlantic. Initially, Chuck and Eric weren't permitted to release another album on another label or on their own label as "Testament", I believe due to contractual obligations with Atlantic.

Obviously, though, that got sorted out :)

first time i heard demonic i liked it... but after hearing more testament albums i think much less of it... its sortof lacking in the complexity, and sure its heavy but its also kinda slow...

i might like the album more if it didnt have John Doe... which is i think the worst testament song ever made...

eisily the two best songs on the album... just to bad they dont have more songs on it of that calibur..

anyway
think the gathering is way better then Demonic

but i deffinatly wont complain cus as somone said
Demonic was very necessary... i really dont feel it fair to call it a death metal album tho... there were no songs about killing people and such ;)

i think demonic could have been better if they just went all out death like... but iv gotta credit Demonic for leading them to The Gathering, which i think is one of there best albums... perfect 10/10 in my book

i give demonic 6.5/10
and Low is probably 8/10

the reason i dont find demonic as good is that there just isnt as many killer songs on it... i mean every song off the gathering seems like it would make it on the radio...

demonic has 2 songs wich i like tons though the burning times and jun jun, but when these songs are over i find myself loosing intrest in the album...

I like demonic for the dirrection, and the album was a great idea... its just that they didnt have enough strong songs to cary out the album... only 11 songs and nostrovia is hard to get into due to its lenght... and john doe is a horrible song (probably even worse then anything off the legacy) i thought demonic refusal was only average... and most everything else aside from prolly hatreds rise is below average...
