"If someone nukes Manhattan,
then it won't matter what any of us dreamed"

"hate USA devotee of a terrorist brigade,
hell bent religious mission"
lyrics from Hades' "Ground Zero NYC"

Hades is one of my all time faves. reading these lyrics from their previous album "The Downside", made even stronger my oppinion about them, that they are one of the tops in the metal scene.
they kick ass :headbang:.

Hades is quite a cult band since they exist since the mid eighties, with recordings such as "Resisting Success", "If At first You don't Succeed", approaching the majesty of Watchtower (their singer Alan Techio was the dude who shouted, screamed, growled, sung in "Control And Resistence".
What you don't know Watchtower?
*Metalized furious throws a curse at you*
May you and CoF be the last survivors of the forthcoming nuclear biocaust and live forever listening to CoF playing live (without the dancing chicks)...

Don't know if that was directed at me or not, but I do know Watchtower. They rule; Energetic Disassembly is in my top five ever. I also know who Alan Tecchio is, he is also the singer of Non-Fiction, with whom he sang while Hades was broken up. He only sang on Control and Resistance, Jason McMaster sang on Energetic Disassembly and is going to sing on Mathematics if they ever finish writing it. Does anyone know when the Unreleased Demos CD is going to be released? They announced it a while ago, but no news since then.

I haven't heard any of the early Hades CDs, though, are they better than the current ones? I liked $avior$elf quite a bit, and The Downside is pretty good. DamNation wasn't as good, IMO, but still decent. I tried to find some .mp3s a while back for their early stuff, but was unsuccessful; I should try again.

Their first CDs were a bit different but this is obvious since the songs were written in the mid-late 80s. They are quite close to the Watchtower sound balancing between speed-technical power of that time- and progressive metal. and imo they were better than their latest ones.

Techio has sung for one more band that i know off: Power.
their only (i think?) cd "Justice of fire" presents excellent, powerfull power metal heavy, quick and technical. really excellent cd.
