Wow...Dimmu Borgir to tour with Unearth?

Dimmu needs to rid of Shagrath and return to the days of Silenoz being the main song writer and vocalist (AKA For All Tid and Stormblast).
This said, I'll be seeing this tour just so I can see Kataklysm again. Kataklysm fucking rules live.

Lamented Souls is pretty cool. Different than the other stuff Simen has done, but pretty good stoner doom nonetheless.
I'll definitely see this tour. Dimmu is amazing live and I really want to see Kataklysm. I'll just go late so I can skip Dildodriver and Unearth.
Dimmu may be big, but they don't really make mainstream music.

Yeah, Dimmu can be suprisingly amusing live, though, i'm just hoping they'll play a lot pre-puritanical material live. And little In Sorte Diaboli material, as what I heard from that album is pure trash.
Kataklysm will own the show, for sure, though.

I saw a live video of The Heretic Hammer (one of the working titles) and it sounded really good. Although there were more synths than I was expecting. I'm still hoping the album will have very little synths.

Thats the biggest problem, is that the album is REALLY synth and orchestral heavy. And what isn't full of synths and orchestral is just very bad song writing. And Shagraths vocals are so clumped with effects its sad.

I really liked how the last two albums didn't really have so much synth work. It had some orchestral stuff, but the synths were in the background.
Even with the re-recording of Stormblast.

Well, an open mind is good, but now you're getting TOO open minded.
But I guess from every style there are the truly good ones that won't be found in mainstream. But uhh... RnB and German shlager?? Dude...
And Unearth ain't so bad, though not my style of metal, gimme Arsis instead

oh and i 2 really like Arsis very good band.

Lepers Among Us from Dimmu has some cool riffs. But I see where you're coming from though, it's very dark and so on, it's not my fave band either but I listened to it just for the music

It was not a finished product...
I prefer Stormblast of all Dimmu, personally, so you can see how my opinion may be a bit biased.
And max is right, to an extent. Dimmu Borgir is not black metal, though in 1994-1997 they were for a bit.
