I would recommend getting two Saffire Pro 40's but they can only be used independently :/ Cold try getting 2 secondhand Profire 2626's? They sync up together via Firewire (I think?) I've seen a 2626 going on ebay for around £350ish. Also, i know your not in the UK but try GumTree, or Craigs List

I got a saffire pro 40 and i love it. There is usually a load floating around ebay. I saw one auction, messaged the guy and offered him £250 +£15 P+P and got myself a sweet deal I had to message a few people before one accepted.

Can't really recommend any decent pres as I dont need that many inputs right now
