I get the feeling that bands fear the Third World, mainly because Third World people are mostly cannibals and savages. A lot of them are hideous and stupid due to inbreeding and lack of television. You also stand a good chance of getting shot in the head, hi - jacked, robbed or being malled by an elephant on the way to the hotel/gig. You can't even think of drinking the water, breathing the air will put you in quarantene for at least a month and never ever ask what you just had eaten, trust me, you don't wanna know.

Ah shut up UM Even Rata Blanca plays in New York. I guess the problem in NY it's not that bands don't show but the traffic to get to a gig is a killer

i never heard of Rata Blanca... as for NY shows.. i havent been to one in years... im going to Emperor this year.. my first show.. i feel like a newbie lol ...

Italy, Hungary, probably Austria, that's it I suppose...
We'd have to travel at least 15 hrs or so to any larger German city.

Perspective is everything. When I was living in US there was a Motorhead/Iron Maiden/Dio gig near Sacramento, CA. I was in Reno, NV so it was around 2.5 h trip, but since I didn't have a car be as well be 2.5 l-y. Moreover in here 2.5 h puts you in any of our coasts, so I thought it was too long a trip

I just got a brochure on the Linblad Expedition Cruise Lines and OMG what a phenomenal (and $$$$$$$$$$$$) cruise! I just had to look at the Costa Rica trip! what a beautiful place, maybe we should start a UMOS house trading event. 1 week a year we swap homes.....

But to tell you the truth, nothing beats the long travels and the laughter that goes on during the travelling, it's the best part of it all...

Hell, I would bitch about it as well if I usually had to drive less than half an hour to the show. Hell, I bitch about it now as well, but there's nothing I can do about it (other than move to some EU country's capital), so I guess all I'm left with is - bitching!

In looking at all those beautiful pictures of forests, birds, waterfalls, oceans and such I'd be a happy camper to get away from this concrete jungle! As of late all my vacation time goes into concerts...not a bad way to relax either!
