Hi, I've been roaming the boards for a while now, and decided to join to share this with you guys.

On Saturday January 9, X Japan took over the streets of Hollywood to shoot four music videos for some old and new songs ala Beatles and U2. They invited fans to be part of the event. Here are some videos, it was amazing!!!! Pardon my "singing."

I signed up to attend but had an emergency at the last minute and could not make it. The pictures of the band are great though. Glad to see X - Japan is back.

I also signed up to go but couldn't, they didn't give much notice so I could make plans to travel across from one side of America to the other.. AH! I would have LOVED to have gone but I've been keeping up watching the different videos being posted. So did they do videos for old songs too? They obviously did a video for Jade, but what would be the purpose to do videos for older songs? WE ARE X!

I signed up also but had no intention of going simply because two weeks isn't enough notice to make it to the other side of the country for what was vehemently announced as "not a live performance" event... Would have loved to be there though, and given more notice, I would have.

They filmed videos for Jade, Rusty Nail, I.V. and Endless Rain. They probably didn't film for new songs because they don't have new songs, and they know the fans will eat it up anyway :p

I wrote about it here: X JAPAN in the U.S. - Part 2 - Hollywood Happens

I'm happy they are back too, and active despite the health problems of Yoshiki and Toshi, though there are rumors that they doctored press photos of the crowds and falsified the number of people in attendance. I don't really care about that, but I hope they manage to make it here for a live show too!

1-2 weeks notice is crazy. The plane ticket cost would be max in that time frame. If it would have been at LEAST 2-3 months they wouldn't have had to doctor anything if that was even true. Toshi has health problems too? I'll check out the write up. Thanks.

Hey we're not talking about that doctoring thing :-X ;-) I was pretty depressed that it was such short notice but maybe it was a good thing because it seems any long-term plans they've had in the last 3 years have fallen apart completely.

As for Toshi, yes he has some health problems too, as well as some other bogus stuff going on. Read this:

Haha ok. I was sad when they gave announcement as well. Hmm good point. I didn't know that Toshi had health problems. I've always liked him best, he seems like such a sweet and kind soul.. an opening for a cult unfortunately. Unbelievable what they did to him, and what cults do to people in general.. so sad. Thankfully he's out of the cult, and can now try to start a new life. I hope he can cut ties permanently with them. I can't imagine how difficult it is to not only have to go through a divorce, but ALSO have that tied into the manipulations of the Zen Buddhist cult ..double whammy. Thanks for the link, and it's in english! I haven't gotten Rosetta Stone for Japanese just yet.. but hope to soon.
