My only wish at this point is for a power metal band to emerge that does something not totally generic. So far, only Blind Guardian and Rhapsody have really proven their timelessness, at least IMO.

hmm Stratovarius arent bad either.. I prefer them to Rhapsody I think.. altho I am not big on all power metal lately... The only bands from power I like are Helloween and late Manowar (i dunno if they can be classed as power, but I always classed all their albums after Triumph of Steel as power...)

I used to be a huge power fan, but have discovered that death metal contains far more bands that please me than power does. Now it's fallen to third on my list (after death and black).
