Cheers man! Actually that's not for the album, that's a piece I wrote and recorded for a university project. Was thinking of reviving it for something, and was demonstrating it to our bassist. Didn't even know they were filming really at the time!!

andddd, how many of the ambient mics did you end up actually using? or are you just riding some up for what serves the song?

Yup, I'm actually distorting the fuck out of the kick out microphone, and using it subtly. At least I am doing in the pre-mixes.... we've not finished recording all the guitars yet, so we'll have to see!
Plan is to have a variety of flavours of ambience to use for whichever sections of songs require it, but collectively it sounds very nice. I posted some files recently actually, but people might've missed them:
