Kurt Russell's top three films:

ESCAPE FROM NY
THE THING
BIG TROUBLE

And without doubt a worthy mention ('cos it's on TV right now!)...

Otherwise, he should just stick with John Carpenter (if he didn't suck ass anymore).

only watched trouble in little china

I would like to watch The Thing, especially now that I've played the game and read the beginning of the book.

i fucking approve of this thread! kurt russell is a genius!

so its kinda hard to put a 'serious' movie in kurt russell's top 3, but tombstone is just so fuckin badass. not really any uber-cheesy humor, but there are some funny parts. val kilmer also totally rules in this one, drinkin, smokin, makin fun of the dumb cowboys, and coughing up chuncks of lung. when i saw this in the theatre i actually squeezed a few tears when doc kicked off. AWESOME western.......on to the cheese:

When some wild-eyed, eight-foot-tall maniac grabs your neck, taps the back of your favorite head up against the barroom wall, looks you crooked in the eye and asks you if ya paid your dues, you just stare that big sucker right back in the eye, and you remember what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like that: "Have ya paid your dues, Jack?" "Yessir, the check is in the mail."....there are sooo many brilliant lines that really work becuase of kurt russell. everyone else in this movie puts in a pretty bad/cheesy performance, but you actually believe jack burton. kurt russell doesnt get enough credit, becuase his (older) movies are so corny and over the top that people dont stop to realize that his performances are always excellent. and on to his most excellent:

tango & cash!@# oh man. greatest buddy film ever. every single line is a one-liner. there is no dialog, they dont speak to each other, they just spit out one-liners for an hour and a half. i have a theory that this is actually a parody of a buddy film, becuase they have taken all of the ingredients of the normal buddy film and apmlified them 10x and gone so far over the top that its insane to think that this level of cheese was accidental. we've got the evil overlord who has a his video phone hooked up to a huge bigscreen and plays with mice (wtf?!) in his mice-maze bar, the super pissed off #1 henchmen who's accent is so muddled i cant even tell if he is supposed to be british or australian, the thug with the HUGE chin, the hot sister who does the least sexy 'striptease' by a hot chick ever, the nerdy Q rippoff where they get their guns, gadgets, and crazy truck for the end, horriffic puns, impossible marksmanship, etc. etc. i could go on for days about this movie. absolutely brilliant.

honorable mentions to escape from NY and LA, soldier, 3000 miles to graceland, and pretty much every other movie he's been in.

oh ya... forgot about stargate...

but damn james spader rules too, but for reasons different from Kurt Russell

tho I don't think any of their performances in that movie were that great.. it's just an overall cool film, but below the top level of each's individual film repertoire

hahah i need to see tango and cash again

he was in that truck driver movie not so long ago ... i think it was him ... some truck driver was after him

good flick!

JayK is correct. Escape and Big Trouble are classics.

Anyone seen Kurt in Used Cars? That movie is friggin hilarious.

Overboard was funny as shit. Goldie Hawn was damn hot in that bikini. Also long before that was a movie called swing shift about WW2 with Kurt Russel, Goldie Hawn and Ed Harris. I also learned FUBAR from TANGO AND CASH as well, didnt hear it for many years until SAving Private Ryan.
